Now that fireworks officially are illegal on Oahu, the HFD has created an amnesty program to accept fireworks, no questions asked.

State Legalizes Hand-Pounded Poi – Honolulu News Story – KITV Honolulu
Gov. Neil Abercrombie Thursday signed a bill into law that allows the sale of poi made using a traditional pounding stone and wooden board, which are the only implements that can produce the right pa'iai with the right level of moisture to serve, store and mass produce. Until the law was changed, health departement inspectors had barred commercial sales of hand-pounded poi because they feared the lava rock pounding stone could not be sanitized completely.
