If you are one of those people hoping to ride the wave of the economic crisis and plethora of great travel deals out there, you may just want to get into the Aloha spirit and check out some of the great deals happening in Hawaii this summer and fall. With the economy keeping more people at home this year, folks in the travel industry in Hawaii are hurting, and are willing to roll out some pretty steep discounts and great deals to encourage people to head to the islands.
Hawaii is also celebrating it’s 50th anniversary of statehood this year, so while you are sure to find a host of great 50th anniversary themed packages and discounts out there, these are certainly not the only offers to be found. In fact, it’s hard to find a single hotel or resort in Hawaii that hasn’t slashed rates and rolled out special package deals, free nights, or cut-rate rooms as incentives to guests. Now is also a great time to score an amazing price on flights to Hawaii. With airfares continuing to stay low well into the summer season and into next fall, you could fly to Hawaii for almost half of what it may have cost you just a year ago.
If you are looking to find a great deal at one of the many hotels in Honolulu, the Aqua Hotels and Resorts, who have 12 Waikiki hotels, are offering a Nifty to be Fifty Statehood special through December 30, which allows you to pay just $50 the first night with a minimum 3-night stay. Another Waikiki hotel, the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki, is also offering up a special package in honor of that state’s 50th birthday, which rates starting at just $179/night for this luxury property and includes a $50 daily resort credit (just make sure you book by September 30). Many other hotels near Waikiki are offering up spectacular deals as well (almost every hotel I checked had some sort of special offer or discount happening right now).

In fact, booking your flight and hotel together in one package can often be a great way to save even more money—and with the offers on cheap vacation packages to Hawaii, you will have no problem finding the right kind of vacation at your budget. United Vacations is having a Hawaii sale right now, which allows you to save as much as $250 if you book by September 15.
Fall is usually a good time to book travel to Hawaii anyways, as the shoulder season has made for cheaper airfares and hotel rates in Hawaii for years, according to an interview I did with Hawaiian Airlines representative Keoni Wagner. This fall will mark especially hot savings and opportunities for great deals in Hawaii as the hurting economy has made for even better than usual deals and bigger savings. With so many great Hawaii deals out there, you may just be able to afford a trip to the islands this year after all…
